When people see “Dot’s Petite Bakery Co.,” they often assume it’s just a cute name. And while it is cute—pastel, cozy, nostalgic—it’s also so much more.
Dot’s is my heart.
It’s my history.
And more than anything, it’s the legacy I’m building.
Where the Name Came From
Dot was my grandma’s nickname. She didn’t just bake. She brought people together through every pie, cake, and quiet moment in the kitchen. Her kitchen wasn’t just a place for food. It was a place for love, comfort, and connection. She made the ordinary feel magical.
When I decided to start this bakery journey, I knew I wasn’t just creating a brand. I was creating a tribute to her and every warm memory that still lives in my heart. Every time someone says “Dot’s,” they’re saying her name. And that means everything.
It’s Bigger Than Baking
Sure, I love baking. I love experimenting with flavors, decorating cakes, and dreaming up my next big idea. But this isn’t just about selling sweet things.
This is about building something lasting.
I want Dot’s to be a place—whether online or in a physical shop one day—where people feel seen, safe, and comforted. I want my recipes to carry stories. I want my blog posts to offer encouragement. I want the nostalgia to seep into every bite.
Because Dot’s isn’t just a business.
It’s the bridge between my past and my future.
It’s the place where I honor the women who came before me. It’s also where I build something meaningful for the next generation.
What Legacy Looks Like to Me
Legacy isn’t always loud.
It’s in the handwritten recipe cards passed down.
It’s in the scent of poundcake in the kitchen.
It’s in the way people gather and feel at home—even if it’s just from a blog post.
Dot’s Petite Bakery Co. is about creating moments that linger long after the dessert is gone. It’s about the love baked in. The softness. The stories. The soul.
I hope one day, my future children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews look at Dot’s and feel pride. I hope they see how something small—an idea, a name, a memory—can become something powerful when you lead with heart.
So, Why This Blog?
Because even though I’m not baking full-time right now, I’m still building the foundation.
One post at a time.
One dream at a time.
One piece of the legacy at a time.
This blog isn’t just a diary. It’s the blueprint.
For the bakery. For the mission. For Dot’s.
If you’ve ever wanted to turn something close to your heart into something real, I hope you find encouragement here. I hope you find encouragement here too.
Thanks for being part of this journey. You’re part of the legacy now, too.
With warmth,
Shaderra
Founder of Dot’s Petite Bakery Co.
