✏️ Why I’m Blogging Before I’m Baking

If you had told me a year ago that I’d be writing about baking more than I’d be doing it, I might’ve laughed. But here I am — sharing stories, memories, and dreams from behind a keyboard instead of a kitchen counter. And honestly? It feels just as important.

Dot’s Petite Bakery Co. was born from something much deeper than just frosting and flour. It was born from love, legacy, and the way my Grams’ kitchen made me feel — safe, seen, and wrapped in warmth.

But right now, I don’t have a kitchen to bake in.

And that’s okay.

🧁 A Dream That Doesn’t Wait for the Perfect Moment

Right now, I’m in a season of preparation. The ovens are off, but my heart (and imagination) are on fire. I still have recipes. I still have visions. I still have that pull to create something meaningful.

I’m blogging before I’m baking because:

  • My story didn’t pause just because the baking did
  • This blog lets me preserve my memories and plant seeds for the future
  • I want to bring people into the heart of Dot’s — even if the sweets are still on the way

This space gives me something that buttercream and fondant can’t: a way to slow down, reflect, and invite others in while I’m still building.

✨ Blogging IS Baking… In Its Own Way

Writing these posts, sharing stories about childhood summers, porch drinks, and old-school ice cream, is like baking with words. Each paragraph is a layer. Each memory, a sprinkle of something sweet.

Even when my hands aren’t in the dough, my heart is still in the kitchen.

This blog allows me to:

  • Stay connected to my purpose
  • Build a community of readers and fellow dreamers
  • Document the journey — not just the end result

💛 Gram’s Is Still Very Much Alive

Every post, every sentence, every shared memory is a breadcrumb on the path toward my full bakery vision. And when I finally do return to baking — with the mixers running and oven glowing — I won’t just be serving cakes. I’ll be serving a story you’ve walked with me through from the very beginning.

So thank you for being here during the in-between.
This blog is my beginning, my foundation, and my sweet start.

And if you’re in a season of building quietly, dreaming slowly, or waiting for your turn — I hope this reminds you that your story is still happening. Even now.

With warmth and whipped dreams,
Shaderra
