This past weekend was one of those moments that feels extra special—one I know I’ll look back on with the biggest smile.
I had the honor of making cakesicles for my sister-in-law’s baby shower, a celebration filled with love, anticipation, and the sweetest theme: Welcoming A Little Sweetheart. From the decor to the energy in the room, everything felt soft, joyful, and full of heart—and these cakesicles fit right in.
Designing Something Sweet & Sentimental
When I started planning the cakesicles, I wanted them to feel delicate, charming, and baby-shower perfect. Soft pinks, heart shapes, gentle drizzles, and simple details that felt elegant without being overdone.
Each cakesicle was:
- Coated in smooth chocolate
- Finished with soft pink tones and heart details
- Wrapped individually with clear packaging
- Tied with blush pink ribbons
- Finished with my Dot’s Petite Bakery Co. logo for that final polished touch
They were sweet, simple, and made with so much love—exactly how I imagine welcoming a new baby into the world should feel.
Made With Love (and a Little Auntie Joy)
There’s something different about baking for family—especially for a moment as meaningful as this. Knowing these cakesicles were part of celebrating my future niece made every step feel even more intentional.
From shaping and dipping to packaging late into the night, I kept thinking about how food has this beautiful way of becoming part of a memory. Long after the decorations come down, people remember how something made them feel—and that’s always my goal when I bake.

Seeing the cakesicles displayed at the baby shower was such a proud moment. They truly stole the show—guests gravitated toward them, complimented the design, and couldn’t wait to grab one. Watching people enjoy something you poured your heart into never gets old.
