If you asked 3-year-old me where my favorite place in the world was, I’d say it without a second thought: my grandma’s house. The scent of sweet potato pie baking in the oven, the sound of soap operas playing on the tv from the living room, and the warmth that filled every inch of her home—it was pure magic.

Baking Was Always About Love

Some of my most treasured memories are tied to holidays spent at my grandma’s house. She would make the most incredible sweet potato pie, and just the smell of it could stop you in your tracks. Watching her bake wasn’t just a pastime—it was a masterclass in love, patience, and joy.

Even now, when I bake, I try to recreate that same feeling. Every mini cake, cakesicle, or jar of sweet goodness I make is a tribute to those moments and to the woman who taught me that dessert is more than just food—it’s a memory you can taste.

How Life Led Me Here

When I was little, I wanted to be a chef. I’d dream about working in a big kitchen, creating dishes that made people happy. Life, however, took me in a different direction. I built a career in healthcare, which taught me a lot about organization, care, and communication.

Then one day, life threw me a curveball—I was laid off. In that quiet space between jobs, I thought, “What do I love? What feels like me?”

The answer was simple: baking.

So, I picked up my mixer, dusted off my creativity, and started baking again—not just for fun, but as a way to bring in a little money and a lot of joy. What began as a side project slowly started to blossom. And now, here we are—with a brand, a blog, and a heart full of sweet dreams.
