Dear Future Bakery: A Love Letter to Dot’s

Dear Future Bakery,
I see you so clearly, it’s like you already exist.

I picture you nestled on a quiet little street, with twinkling lights in the window and the smell of something sweet floating through the air. Your shelves are lined with jars of cake sprinkles and cozy cookie tins. There’s a bell on the door that rings just right, a soft song playing in the background, and laughter always finds its way in.

But right now? You’re still just a dream I’m nurturing from the inside out.

🍰 Where This Dream Began

This isn’t just about a storefront or a brand. Dot’s Petite Bakery Co. is a love story—one that started in my grandma’s kitchen. The sound of the mixer, the warm oven, the comfort of sweet potato pie in the fall… I didn’t know it then, but that space taught me how powerful dessert can be. It taught me that baking is about so much more than flour and sugar. It’s about family. It’s about healing. It’s about remembering where you come from and believing in where you’re going.

✨ Why I’m Writing This Now

Right now, I don’t even have a kitchen big enough to bake the way I want to.
But this blog, this space—it’s my start.
This is where I’m planting the seeds for something beautiful.

I write because I want to hold on to the joy of baking even when I can’t do it every day. I share because I know there’s someone else out there—maybe you—who finds healing in nostalgia and magic in the small moments. One day, I’ll walk into the bakery I’ve built and feel this moment again. And I’ll smile, knowing it all started with a handwritten dream.

💛 What I See for Dot’s

I see shelves of mini cakes and seasonal boxes tied with ribbon. I see a menu that feels like home and smells like celebration. I see cozy boxes shipped across the country, bringing a little comfort to someone who needs it most. I see workshops, handwritten notes, and sweet treats that feel like hugs.

And above all, I want this space to carry the feeling of Christmas—not the décor, but the spirit. That special kind of joy, warmth, and wonder that lights you up inside. The feeling of comfort, connection, and kindness that fills a room during the holidays.
That’s the feeling I want every person to experience when they step through my doors—even in the middle of July.

🧁 Until Then…

I’ll keep writing.
I’ll keep dreaming.
I’ll keep sharing little slices of warmth and nostalgia with all of you.

To anyone else holding a dream that’s not quite ready yet—this one’s for you. Don’t wait for perfect. Start with what you have. Dream out loud. And believe that what’s meant for you is already on its way.

With sugar, stories, and all my love,
Shaderra
